The Chicago Bulls suffered their worst loss of the season on Tuesday night, falling 132-92 to the Detroit Pistons at the United Center.
With open shots not falling and frustration mounting, even Nikola Vucevic had to laugh at the disaster unfolding before him. The veteran center mocked his own team’s performance, throwing his hands in the air after finally making a shot in the first half—when Chicago was already trailing by 43 points.
Bulls’ Historic Shooting Woes
🔴 The Bulls missed their first 20 three-pointers, setting a new franchise record.
🔴 They finished 10-for-47 (21%) from deep and 35% overall from the field.
🔴 Only two players scored in double figures:
- Matas Buzelis: 12 points
- Josh Giddey: 11 points
🔴 Coby White, one of Chicago’s top scorers, had just five points, going 0-for-8 from three and 2-for-13 from the field.
Coach Billy Donovan didn’t sugarcoat the loss:
“We have to own it. There’s no excuses. Some of these young guys have to grow up.”
Trade Deadline Fallout & The Road Ahead
Chicago (22-32) was already facing an uphill battle after trading Zach LaVine to Sacramento at the deadline. The team had also moved on from DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso last offseason.
Vucevic, now 34, remains on the roster despite trade rumors swirling around him.
“It’s never fun to go through all that. … I just have to be better.”
The Bulls don’t have time to dwell on this loss—they face the Pistons again on Wednesday night at the United Center.
Will they bounce back, or is this just a sign of more struggles ahead?
