While the Slam Dunk Contest often steals the spotlight, the NBA 3-Point Contest has consistently delivered some of the most thrilling moments of All-Star Weekend. Watching the league’s top sharpshooters go on rapid-fire shooting sprees makes for an electrifying competition, and this year promises to be no different.
Leading the pack in 2025 is Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard, who is aiming for his third consecutive 3-Point Contest title. If he pulls it off, Lillard will join an elite club, becoming just the third player in NBA history to win the event three straight times. Only legends Larry Bird and Craig Hodges have accomplished this feat, with their three-peats coming in the 1980s and early 1990s.
Lillard won’t have an easy path to history, as he faces a competitive field featuring Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Darius Garland (Cleveland Cavaliers), Tyler Herro (Miami Heat), Buddy Hield (Golden State Warriors), Cameron Johnson (Brooklyn Nets), and Norman Powell (Los Angeles Clippers). Notably absent from this year’s contest are Golden State Warriors’ legendary marksmen Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
