Mercedes has secured the signing of 16-year-old karting sensation Ethan Jeff-Hall for its junior team ahead of the 2025 racing season. Jeff-Hall follows in the footsteps of Lando Norris, who won the CIK-FIA World Karting Championship in 2014, by clinching the prestigious title himself in 2024.
The young talent sealed the World Karting Championship on the final lap of the season, marking a dramatic and historic achievement. This victory places him alongside other F1-affiliated champions such as Nyck de Vries and Vitantonio Liuzzi.
According to reports, Jeff-Hall will join the Mercedes junior programme for the 2025 campaign, preparing to make his single-seater debut in the British Formula Four Championship with Argenti Motorsport. In his statement, Jeff-Hall expressed his enthusiasm for the challenge ahead:
“I’m excited and ready to face the challenge in British F4. My past experiences in winning championships like Ginetta Juniors and the FIA World Karting title have taught me valuable lessons in consistency, adaptability, and handling pressure at the highest level. I’m eager to adapt to the car and the competition quickly.”
Jeff-Hall joins a talented pool of drivers in the Mercedes junior programme, including Kenzo Craigie, the 2024 junior world karting champion, and James Anagnostiadis, the runner-up. The team also boasts Luna Fluxa, a female prodigy, alongside experienced talents like Alex Powell and Yuanpu Cui, who are set to continue representing Mercedes in Formula Four.
Mercedes’ signing of Jeff-Hall marks an exciting new chapter for the young driver, as he transitions into single-seater racing with high expectations.
