NFL Black Monday 2025 Head Coach Interview Frenzy Amid Multiple Firings

Black Monday in the NFL is traditionally a day of high drama, as teams fire head coaches after the regular season ends. This year, however, things unfolded a bit differently. While the New England Patriots acted swiftly by firing Jarod Mayo the day before, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who let go of Doug Pederson earlier, and other teams like the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints had already made coaching changes earlier in the season. This shift in timing made Black Monday 2025 more of a whirlwind of interview requests rather than just firings.

Despite some early moves, one of the most notable headlines came from the Las Vegas Raiders, who waited until Tuesday to part ways with head coach Antonio Pierce. Now, they are expected to jump into the interview process, adding to the flood of requests that poured in for head coaching positions across the league.

Yahoo Sports is tracking all of the action and offers a list of teams actively interviewing candidates, as well as when those interviews are likely to take place. Below is a breakdown of which teams are speaking with which candidates for their head coaching openings.
