Bradley Beal’s No-Trade Clause Remains Intact, Suns’ Trade Talks on Hold
NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed that Bradley Beal, the Phoenix Suns guard, and his agent Mark Bartelstein have not entered into any discussions regarding waiving Beal’s no-trade clause. Speaking on Get Up, Windhorst shared the latest update on trade rumors linking Beal to a potential move involving Jimmy Butler, as speculation continues about the Suns’ interest in acquiring the Miami Heat superstar.
Windhorst noted that any trade involving Beal would require his cooperation to waive the clause, and as of now, there has been no indication that Beal is considering such a move. According to Bartelstein, no discussions have taken place with the Suns or any other team about waiving the clause. Instead, Beal’s focus remains on helping the Suns improve their performance.
Beal, who joins LeBron James as one of the few players with the power to control his next destination, has yet to entertain the idea of waiving the clause. Bartelstein clarified that at this moment, the clause is not part of any negotiation process.
Earlier, rumors had suggested that Beal might be willing to waive his no-trade clause for three key teams — the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Denver Nuggets. These reports surfaced amid ongoing trade speculation and Beal’s recent shift to a bench role following Phoenix’s struggles. Beal made a significant impact as a reserve, scoring 25 points in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers, but it remains to be seen whether this marks a change in his status with the Suns.
This season has been challenging for Beal, who is averaging 17.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. He is currently in the second year of a five-year, $251 million contract he signed with the Washington Wizards before being traded to the Suns. Whether Beal finishes the season in Phoenix is still uncertain, and his no-trade clause continues to be a key factor in any potential moves.
