Deion Sanders Reveals the Only Way He’d Leave Colorado for the NFL Coaching His Sons

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders opened up about his future in coaching and the one scenario that could pull him away from the Buffaloes and into the NFL: the opportunity to coach both of his sons, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback Shilo Sanders.

In an interview on GMA3, Sanders shared that while he is “99 percent sure” his time coaching his sons in Colorado is nearing its end, the prospect of coaching them together in the NFL would be the only reason he would consider a move to the professional league. “The only way I would consider it is to coach my sons,” Sanders stated, making it clear he’s not just focused on Shedeur, who is seen as a potential first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but also on Shilo.

While Shedeur has garnered significant attention for his talents, Shilo’s draft prospects are not as high. Nevertheless, Deion Sanders emphasized that his passion for coaching at Colorado remains strong. “I love Colorado. I love everything we’re building. I love what we’re doing, and I love Boulder, Colorado,” he said.

For now, Sanders remains committed to leading Colorado, but he made it clear that his love for coaching would only grow if it meant getting to work with his sons at the next level.
