Jordan Mailata Steals the Show with Powerful ‘We Are the Champions’ Performance at Eagles’ Victory Parade

It was an unforgettable moment at the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory parade as Australian NFL star Jordan Mailata treated the rowdy crowd to a stunning rendition of Queen’s iconic anthem We Are the Champions.

Just days after helping his team demolish the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, Mailata, the first Australian to play in and win a Super Bowl, stole the spotlight at the Eagles’ victory parade. The 27-year-old offensive tackle, known for his powerful presence on the field, showed off his impressive singing chops on a celebration-filled open-top parade bus, leading the crowd in an impromptu performance.

“I’m not one for speeches but I know how to sing,” Mailata said before launching into the energetic rendition of the beloved Queen hit. “I’m going to need some help. I want to sing a song that everyone here should know – it kind of sounds like this.”

As fans erupted with cheers, Mailata’s pitch-perfect performance captured the hearts of Eagles supporters lining the streets, many of whom had camped out overnight to secure the best spots for the parade. The celebration escalated as Mailata playfully removed his shirt, continuing to revel in the joyous occasion with fans chanting his name.

“This is amazing. I love our fans, I love our city, I love what they’re about,” Mailata shared, soaking in the excitement of the moment. Fans even climbed trees, ladders, and even a statue of Benjamin Franklin to catch a glimpse of their heroes.

The performance was especially sweet given Mailata’s musical background. Before rising to fame as an NFL player, Mailata was a contestant on The Masked Singer USA in 2021, where he performed as ‘Thingamabob’. His powerful renditions of songs like Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi and Perfect by Ed Sheeran impressed judges and fans alike, and Mailata revealed that singing has been a lifelong passion.

“I’ve been singing all my life,” Mailata said after being unmasked on the show. “I was a singer before I was any sort of athlete. I played rugby in Australia and decided four years ago to try my hand in the NFL. It ended up paying off.”

Mailata’s infectious energy didn’t stop at the parade — he made a fan’s day by gifting his Super Bowl hat to a young boy, proving that his impact stretches beyond the field.

With a Super Bowl victory, a show-stopping performance, and the love of Eagles fans, Mailata continues to be a standout star in both football and music.
