Julius Randle to Miss At Least Two Weeks with Right Adductor Strain

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle will be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks due to a right adductor strain, the team confirmed on Wednesday.

Randle, who sustained the injury in the first half of the Timberwolves’ 138-113 victory over the Utah Jazz on January 30, has not played since. The team is hopeful that he will recover within the next couple of weeks, but his absence leaves a notable void in the Timberwolves’ rotation.

This season, Randle has been a key contributor for Minnesota, averaging 18.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field and 32.1% from beyond the arc. Having started all 48 games this season, his presence in the starting lineup has been vital. During his absence, reigning Kia Sixth Man of the Year, Naz Reid, has stepped in as a starter and will look to fill the gap left by Randle’s injury.

Minnesota will need Reid and the rest of the roster to step up as they continue their playoff push without Randle in the lineup.
