Lakers Spotlight Local Artists in “In the Paint” Art Exhibition

The Los Angeles Lakers are hosting a dynamic four-week art exhibition that celebrates local creativity and highlights the talents of 10 artists of color from the Los Angeles area. The 2025 Lakers In the Paint collection features 36 new works, all united by the powerful theme: How Expression Produces Triumph.

Opening on Saturday, February 8, at the Band of Vices art gallery in downtown Los Angeles’ historic arts district, the free exhibition will run Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., through March 8. The featured artists include Abby Aceves, Estefania Ajcip, Jessica Taylor Bellamy, Daryll Cumbie, Derick Edwards, Megan Gabrielle Harris, Marlon Ivory, Larry Li, Ann Phong, and Michael The Khoi Tran.

Each artist will receive a $10,000 grant from the Lakers Youth Foundation to support their artistic careers. The exhibition culminates with a special celebration at the Lakers’ home game on February 10 against the Utah Jazz at Crypto.com Arena, where the artists will be honored.

Since its inception in 2021, the Lakers have showcased over 75 local creatives, offering a platform for their stories and artwork. The team has also invested in their community by purchasing pieces to diversify the artwork displayed at the Lakers UCLA Health Training Center and providing $400,000 in grants to support the growth of these artists’ careers.

The In the Paint program is supported by Lakers sponsors bibigo, Sixt, MGM Rewards, ProBaller, and Poppi. For more information on the exhibition, visit nba.com/lakers/In-the-Paint.
