Milwaukee Bucks’ Andre Jackson Jr. Set to Compete in NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Andre Jackson Jr., the rising star from Albany, New York, will showcase his high-flying athleticism in the upcoming NBA Slam Dunk Contest on February 15 at Chase Center in San Francisco. A second-year player for the Milwaukee Bucks, Jackson has become a key contributor as a starter this season, known for his defense, passing, and, of course, his dunking ability.

The 6-foot-6 wing, who has averaged 3.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game this season, will be making his debut in the prestigious competition. Jackson’s inclusion comes after a standout career at the University of Connecticut, where he helped lead the Huskies to a national championship in 2023. His dynamic play and clutch performances during UConn’s NCAA Tournament run included impressive averages of 6.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists.

Before his collegiate success, Jackson’s high school career at Albany Academy was marked by a number of spectacular dunks, earning him multiple first-team All-State honors and the Times Union’s Player of the Year award in his senior season. That year, he averaged 18.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 3.1 steals, leading Albany Academy to two Class A Federation Championships.

A second-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jackson was acquired by the Bucks after originally being selected by the Orlando Magic. His basketball journey continues to impress, and now he’ll bring his flair for dunking to the NBA stage.
