The 2024 NFL Awards will be unveiled Thursday night at NFL Honors, with the most anticipated title being the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Along with MVP, other prestigious awards such as Coach of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and Assistant Coach of the Year will also be announced.
The finalists for MVP include Josh Allen, Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Lamar Jackson. Notably, Barkley, Burrow, and Jackson are also up for Offensive Player of the Year, with Burrow additionally being considered for Comeback Player of the Year.
A panel of 50 media members, who regularly cover the league, completed their voting prior to the start of the playoffs.
Jackson earned a spot on the AP first-team All-Pro as quarterback, while Allen made the second-team. Both quarterbacks led their teams to the playoffs, with Allen’s Buffalo Bills overcoming Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens before falling to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.
Saquon Barkley, who had an impressive 2,005 rushing yards — ranking eighth-best in NFL history — has been instrumental in the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff run, helping them reach the Super Bowl against Kansas City this Sunday. Barkley is just 30 yards away from breaking Terrell Davis’ long-standing record for most combined rushing yards in a season, including playoffs.
