Super Bowl LIX Set for New Orleans Eagles vs. Chiefs at the Caesars Superdome

The stage is set for Super Bowl LIX as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have secured their spots for the biggest game of the NFL season. On February 9, 2025, the two teams will face off at the iconic Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Originally slated to host Super Bowl LVIII, New Orleans saw its plans changed when the NFL extended the regular season by one week, conflicting with Mardi Gras celebrations. As a result, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas hosted last year’s Super Bowl, but now the Superdome is ready to welcome fans back for the big event.

The Caesars Superdome holds a special place in the hearts of New Orleans residents. During the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the stadium became a refuge for 30,000 evacuees, and after significant reconstruction, it remains a symbol of resilience. Over the years, the Superdome has also hosted numerous events and concerts, cementing its legacy as one of the most famous stadiums in the world.

New Orleans is no stranger to the Super Bowl, having hosted the championship game more times than any other city, tying Miami with eight total appearances. This year marks the Superdome’s record-setting eighth time as the host stadium, a testament to the city’s enduring love for football and celebration.

“We’re about to put on one of the largest open parties on the planet,” said Marcus Brown, chair of the New Orleans Super Bowl LIX host committee, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

The history of Super Bowls in New Orleans includes some unforgettable moments. From the Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl IV to the dramatic 2013 clash between the Ravens and 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, the city has witnessed iconic performances and thrilling plays. The infamous power outage during Beyoncé’s halftime show added an unforgettable twist to that 2013 matchup.

Looking ahead, the excitement continues with the highly anticipated halftime show. Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar will headline the performance, promising to make the evening even more spectacular.
