The Toronto Raptors are gearing up for a special celebration of Vince Carter’s legendary performance in the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, marking the 25th anniversary of his groundbreaking between-the-legs dunk that changed the game forever. On February 12, during the Raptors’ home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, fans will experience a “Dunkaversary” celebration as part of the team’s GOAT Night, presented by Bell.
GOAT Nights, a new initiative introduced this season, shine a spotlight on basketball icons who have had a lasting impact on the sport, culture, and community in Toronto. This upcoming Dunkaversary will not only honor Carter’s legacy but also celebrate the profound influence he’s had on the Raptors and Canadian basketball.
A Night to Remember for Vince Carter
Carter, who will be celebrated both at the Scotiabank Arena and virtually via the Raptors’ digital channels, will receive special recognition for his monumental dunk, which helped popularize basketball in Canada and globally. The Raptors will be donning the 2024-25 City Edition jerseys, which feature a reimagined logo paying tribute to the iconic dunk.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance will also receive a limited-edition collectible shirt with a unique design commemorating Carter’s dunk and its legacy.
